Miler Lagos’s projects reveal his particular curiosity for understanding the essence of the materials that make up his environment. Likewise, he has great interest in observing nature and in exploring the different phenomena that affect it as a result of cultural production.


He studied Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad de América, Colombia. Miler has developed a number of projects as artist in residency in Location One in New York, USA, 2011; in AB Projects in Toronto, Canada, 2010 and 2011; at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA, 2010; in Gasworks in London, UK and at The Intricate Journey in Berlin, Germany, both in 2009; and in Residencia Encuentro Internacional Medellin MED07 at the Museo de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia, 2007.

 

Within his most representative individual exhibitions one finds: Archeology of desire, Galería Enrique Guerrero in México D.F, México, Rompimiento de Gloria at the Fundación Teatro Odeón in Bogotá, Colombia, 2012; Home at the Magnan Metz Gallery in New York, USA, and Harmonizing Forces at AB Projects in Toronto, Canada, both in 2011; Silence Dogood during Philagrafika at the Arthur Ross Gallery in Philadelphia, USA, 2010; Clap at the Centro Colombo-Americano de Bogotá, in collaboration with Nerdbots, in Bogotá, Colombia, and Naturaleza Gráfica (Solo Project) at the 2nd TRIENAL POLI/GRÁFICA of San Juan, Puerto Rico, both in 2009; and, Semillas Mágicas at the Galería Enrique Guerrero in México D.F., México, and El Papel lo Aguanta Todo at the Galería Nueveochenta Arte Contemporáneo in Bogotá, both in 2008.


He has participated in several group shows, the highlighted ones being: Escaping with landscape with collateral shows at the XI Bienal de la Habana, Cuba, and Imaginary Homelands at York University in Toronto, Canada, both in 2012; Sounds Good in Location One in New York, USA, 2011; at the Biennial of the Americas in Denver, USA, and Valparaíso: Intervenciones in Valparaíso, Chile, both during 2010; Everything Has a Name, or The Potencial to be Named at Gasworks in London, UK, 2009; and, Otras Floras at the Nara Roeasler Gallery in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2009, amongst others.
